The Hodg-man cometh
•February 14, 2009 • 2 Comments
Certainly I can’t be the only one who was shocked to see my new favorite minor television personality, John Hodgman, in last night’s Battlestar Galactica episode, “No Exit.” Apparently the news broke several months ago, but somehow it slipped past both my BSG and Hodgman radar. It was even more shocking to me because I was Tivo-ing the episode until I could fully savor it after the kids went to bed, and happened to turn on the TV to put on The Upside Down Show for my son, only to hear Hodgman’s voice (because the Tivo had tuned the TV to SciFi Channel to record it). My first thought was, “Why is The Daily Show being recorded on Friday night? My second thought was, “I don’t record The Daily Show down here…wait, that’s Battlestar Galactica…” And my third thought was, “Holy shit, my Tivo tried to record both shows at once and two universes were merged!”
Granted, it shouldn’t really be that strange to someone aware of what a fan of the show Hodgman is that he somehow ended up in a guest spot, but I can’t tell you how much it threw me off. The problem I’m having is that I couldn’t stay in the episode because I kept thinking, “That’s John Hodgman. That’s John Hodgman. That’s John Hodgman.”
I love John Hodgman. And I love Battlestar Galactica. But I also love Dr. Pepper and Sam Adams beer, and I would never mix the two.
So…My Gaeta Theory Doesn’t Sound So Ridiculous Now, Does It?
•February 13, 2009 • 8 Comments[SPOILERS for this week’s episode, “No Exit”]
I’ve been getting a lot of flack about my Gaeta theory ever since they revealed that Ellen Tigh is the “Last Cylon.” But I’ve been holding fast to my theory that there’s something more going on here, and sure enough we found out tonight that there is a thirteenth humanoid Cylon model. He’s male and “artistic” and he went by “Daniel.” It also explains the discrepancy in the numbering of the original humanoid Cylons we knew about previously (1-6 and 8, with Daniel being Number Seven).
Now, what was it Gaeta was saying last week about being artistic, and about hoping everyone would find out “who he really is?”
